5 Minutes with… Ricardo Deiana, ICCNZ Treasurer

Once again confirmed in his role as Treasurer of ICCNZ, Ricardo Deiana is passionate about what the Chamber can do for Italian and New Zealand businesses wanting to connect and collaborate. What’s more, Ricardo has some projects and ideas in store to maximise the value of ICCNZ membership. Find out more in our insightful Q&A.

What is your current occupation and business outside of the ICCNZ?

“I’m the managing director of Infonet Solutions NZ Limited, a B2B IT service provider focused on IT infrastructures, backup, security and virtualisation of IT systems operating globally from three different locations: New Zealand, Italy, and the USA.”

How long have you been involved with ICCNZ?

“Infonet Solutions has been a member since 2014 and I was invited to be part of the board in 2018 when I started as a councillor. In 2020, I was appointed as the Auckland vice president, but I have since taken the role of Treasurer leaving that of VP.”

What are your responsibilities in the Chamber?

“Given my line of business and considering that Infonet Solutions is a sponsor of the ICCNZ, I’m responsible for all ICT matters including the end-user support of councillors and members. In my Treasurer’s capacity, I’m also responsible for all financial aspects. Plus, being part of the executive team, I’m highly involved in the decision-making of the Council.”

What motivated you to be part of the ICCNZ Council?

“I’m always happy to lend a hand where I can. So, when I saw an opportunity to use my skills and expertise to fill a gap within the Council, I jumped in and have never left.”

What are some of your key goals for your mandate as Treasurer and part of the Council?

“My goals remain unchanged: maximising the value of the ICCNZ membership for all membership tiers and establishing the Chamber as a top resource for Italian and New Zealand businesses looking to trade or connect with one another.”

Do you have any specific projects in the pipeline?

“I’m currently working on the ICCNZ membership card, a project initiated in 2021 that features a digital QR code for easy management of member discounts. I aim to complete this project within the year.”

How do your unique background, skills, and expertise contribute to the success of the ICCNZ and its members?

“My hospitality background, combined with my now ten-year involvement in the professional ICT service provision, gives me the right customer-service and ICT skillset and experience to streamline some processes and present them to others, offering significant added value.”

What message would you like to convey to the Chamber’s existing and prospective members?

“The Chamber is not run by the Council but by its members. So please, come forward and be part of this member-based organisation to make the most of this amazing community of professionals and their connections.”

What do you see as the most significant challenges and opportunities in the coming years? “The biggest challenge is the global financial uncertainty, causing many small-to-medium businesses to tighten their budgets and minimise investments that don’t promise an immediate ROI. However, and in my opinion, this could also be an opportunity as the ICCNZ membership is one of the least expensive with a remarkably high ROI potential.”
