Venezuelan born, Italian & New Zealand citizen; Belfiore Bologna obtained his Architecture degree from the Central University of Venezuela in 1997 followed by a Postgraduate Specialization in Architecture and City Technologies for Urban Areas in Developing Countries from the Polytechnic of Turin, Italy (1999). His architectural work comprises projects of different scales and uses (residential, commercial, industrial & renewable energy systems) in Italy, Venezuela, P.R. China, and New Zealand.
Belfiore is the Programme Manager of the School of Architecture at Ara Institute of Canterbury (formerly Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology), he is also the owner and director of Design Factum Limited; his architecture firm that began operations in Christchurch since 2010. Belfiore is also the Honorary Consular Agent of Italy for Canterbury and therefore a member of the Christchurch Consular Corp.
His professional memberships include International Associate of the American Institute of Architects (AIA – Hong Kong Local Chapter), Member of the New Zealand Institute of Building (NZIOB), Academic Member of the new Zealand Institute of Architects (NZIA), Professional Member of Architectural Designers New Zealand (ADNZ), Homestar Assessor and Greenstar Accredited professional of the new Zealand green building Council (NZGBC) and member of the Designers Institute of New Zealand (DINZ).
