South Island Event Manager
“Milanese” by birth and nature, Silvia Maggioni has lived all her life in Milan, Italy, until she moved to Christchurch with the family at the end of 2016. After her Master Degree in Economics at Bocconi University in Milan, she spent more than 20 years of her professional career in Hospitals, as a controller, marketing Manager and Chief of Staff for the General Manager. She came to New Zealand with her husband, Vladimiro Cesari, to start a new company, Italian Food Philosophy, importing and distributing niche food and wines in New Zealand. The company has a retail shop, café and restaurant in Christchurch, Casamassima Italian Fare, where Silvia is duty manager and organizes adv, communication and entertainment. Vladi and Silvia have 3 kids, teenagers, well integrated in their new kiwi life.
Member of the Dante Alighieri Society of Christchurch and Teacher of Italian Language at Hagley College, Silvia loves to organize events (as Ciao Italia), concerts (she plays cello in several ensembles and orchestras) and to spread around Italian culture (she has a podcast about Italy on Plains FM Radio every Saturday). A busy life, but full of passion and energy!
