What is your current occupation and position, outside of the ICCNZ?
“I’m an Associate at Anthony Harper in Christchurch in the Employment team. I act for a number of small to large corporates on a range of general commercial transactions, governance matters, employment and health and safety.”
What motivated you to join the ICCNZ and be part of the Council?
“Although I’m very new to the Council, I have been following ICCNZ closely for a number of years, as I have a strong desire to strengthen ties to Italy and the Christchurch-based Italian business community. As Councillor, I’m currently responsible for new members’ development here in Christchurch, alongside the event organisation activities in the Canterbury region.”
What are your main goals for your mandate?
“As part of the ICCNZ Council, my main goals will be to:
- Increase the knowledge and visibility of the ICCNZ in the Italian community, particularly in Canterbury;
- Increase the Chamber’s current membership numbers, not only in Christchurch but also in the South Island; and
- Promote business between Italy and New Zealand, providing assistance and solutions to companies who want to settle in New Zealand or open a branch here.”
How do your unique background, skills, and expertise contribute to the success of the ICCNZ and its members?
“I am a New Zealand born Italian who has operated within the corporate space for a number of years, and having a legal background particularly in the employment space, can assist with our members compliance knowledge of employment legislation.”
What message would you like to convey to the Chamber’s existing and prospective members?
“The Italian Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand is an organisation created to foster business growth and trade between our two countries. By joining the Chamber, we can help each other and get great benefits in terms of visibility, connections and business.”
What do you see as the most significant challenges and opportunities in the coming years? “Italy and all-things Italian is a growing market in New Zealand. Being connected with both countries can help the Chamber’s members grow their businesses.”
