President’s September newsletter message

Carissimi ICCNZ Members,

Welcome to the Spring edition of our Opportunita newsletter.

With the change of seasons, we welcome the Government’s removal of the COVID-19 Protection Framework, meaning businesses can once again operate without restrictions providing certainty as we approach the busy summer period. However with a tight labour market, businesses are still suffering from a skills shortage and labour as demand for workers is near a record high, putting constraints on growing businesses, thus economic growth, requiring immigration policies that provide more certainty.

The end of June saw the signing of the New Zealand and European Union Free Trade Agreement and with NZ$17.5b of trade annually it’s important

the agreement is of high quality and inclusive for a deeper partnership that delivers significant economic gain, so we reached out to some members for their opinions for the Opportunita newsletter but we also welcome any questions from other members as more clarity becomes available of FTA.

In the last quarter, we held and participated in several member events from Chamber’s Aperitivo, Tauranga Food Show, Fine Food Australia and the launch of the new Vespa colour range.

Finally, a warm ‘benvenuti’ goes to our newest ICCNZ members, we look forward to networking with you and highlighting your businesses in the future.

Buon lavoro a tutti.

Cordiali Saluti,

Admir Mullaaliu – President
The Italian Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand
